Many people have been asking when I will be offering floral workshops, so here it is! I will be offering 2 workshops in the coming weeks – one that will be similar to the hand-tied arrangement workshop that we ran the last time, and I am adding a workshop where you will learn how to work with wet foam to create a table centrepiece. If there is demand, I might just add more 😉
Each workshop will be approximately 3 hours, where I will cover the basics of design, floristry and a hands-on session where participants will create their own arrangement. There will also be drinks & snacks, a light lunch, plus a starter kit for all aspiring floral artists!
At the same time, I feel it is really important to practise these skills. I only became better by making lots of arrangements and bouquets. It’s all about practice, practice, and more practice! But it can also be expensive (and sometimes difficult) to buy a variety of flowers on your own, especially those that are more exotic or imported.
So…. I’m starting something I’m calling Floral Jamming (can I trademark this? (: )! I’m sure you’ve heard of music jamming or art jamming, now Heaven in a Wild Flower brings you floral jamming! It’s meant to be a more relaxed and informal version of the workshop, where you get to play with the same gorgeous selection of flowers (there will be a theme each session) we offer in our workshops but without the formal instruction. This will be perfect for those who’ve attended our workshops or have some experience with flowers and want to practise or play with flowers! I will still be present to offer help and advice to those who need it but it’s really for you to create whatever you like using the materials available. With free flow drinks & snacks, jazz music, beautiful flowers, there’s no better way to spend a morning or afternoon by yourself or some friends!
